Ms. Virtanen will lead a four (or more) string group (violin, viola, cello). Students can develop their classical musical talent and have some fun! Private lessons are available after the String Quartet Club.

Drama Club - Mondays commencing 13 January

The Halcyon Drama Club, led by Mr. Oliver Proctor, is a space for students to engage in fun and creative drama games and activities. Open to all abilities, the club aims to build a team of budding actors, directors, script-writers (perhaps even the odd singer and dancer) to produce exciting dramatic work.

Table Tennis Club - Tuesdays commencing 14 January till end of February

Table Tennis Coaching will be offered by a former Table Tennis pro, Natasha from TopSpin. The sessions will take place in Stern Hall from 1600-1700 on Tuesdays.

Football Club - Tuesdays commencing 25 February till end of May

The popular Football club running as an after-school club from Term 1 will continue during the second part of Term 2. The fun sessions will focus on fitness, skills, shooting, formations and tactical awareness during a match.

Debate Club - Tuesdays or Thursdays commencing 14 January

Following a successful whole school debate last Term, Debate Club will continue this Term for those students who are interested in developing and practicing their public speaking (and arguing!) skills. Students will debate a broad range of topics, including education, technology and politics. This will be a fun and lively activity, with students thinking about and discussing complicated issues.

GIN Club - Wednesdays commencing 15 January

Global Issues Network will continue this term and allow students to engage with current events on a global scale. Students will develop their own ideas for how to tackle global issues. It will concentrate on small projects and the emphasis will be on action. In time, GIN will become a student-led activity, which will aim to enable students in the Halcyon community to effect positive change.

Choir Club & Private Singing Lessons - Thursdays commencing 16 January

We will be running a school choir led by choir mistress Ms. Lucinda Allen from Singing Nation every Thursday afternoon from 1545-1630 in the canteen.

**All students who might be interested in joining are invited to participate in a Choir Taster Session after school on Thursday, January 9th. Everyone is welcome to join this free choir taster session.

There will also be Private Singing Lessons with Ms. Allen after the choir club on Thursdays.

Mandarin Club - Thursdays and one lunchtime (TBC)

We are delighted that Mandarin Club will be taught by Halcyon's part-time Mandarin teacher, Ms. Lin who knows the students and is an experienced classroom and private instructor.

The club will meet twice a week, after school on Thursdays and one lunchtime to be determined by the individual students.

Homework Club - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

Students are always welcome to complete homework at school in the Hub at the end of the day. This term, Homework club is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the Hub between 1545 and 1645 (as well as every lunchtime Monday-Friday).

Calling all budding anchor men or women! Halcyon TV Club is an opportunity for those who want to develop their presenting, writing, creating, investigating and/or technological skills, and is open to everyone.

C&S Club - Mondays and Thursdays with Ms. Zago

Are you interested in building a stronger Halcyon community, environmental issues or helping people in the wider community? For example, do you want to become a Halcyon Ambassador? If so, please come along to Halcyon's Community and Service Club with Ms. Zago to see how we can work together on exciting projects for the community.

Art Club - Tuesdays with Mrs. Dance

Come to the Art Club and use this time to find out how to use your own sketchbook (separate from the one in class) in a fun, colourful, exciting and meaningful way, so that it becomes a work of art. Bring your own pictures or photographs (anything you like) to give you ideas for your own work. You will be using the book for drawings, painting, collage and mixed media. You can set your own themes for the term.

Science Club - Wednesdays with Ms. Fritz

The term will start with a crystal growing competition but students are also encouraged to develop their own science projects either individually or in groups.

Film Club - Fridays with Ms. Cooke & Mrs. Jones
