Job Description
Teachers help prepare students for life after graduation. They teach academic lessons and various skills that students will need to attend college and to enter the job market like in Math, or Science.
Work Enviornment
For their work environment, they either work in public schools or private schools. Some teach in public magnet and charter schools. Others teach in private religious or secular schools.
Band Teacher
A band teacher teaches kids about all about band and how each of the instruments work. They actually play songs at concerts and probably at sport games.
Math Teacher
A Math Teacher is a teacher who teaches basic math, such as pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and trig. They can also teach mathematics.
Science Teacher
A Science Teacher is a teacher that teaches kids all about different kinds of sciences. They teach a variety of topics sch as earth sciences, chemistry, and physics.
Skills Needed and Tasks Required
To become a certified teacher, you need to get a hold of a Bachelor's degree in any subject area approved college or university.
- Plan lessons in the subjects they teach such as Biology and History.
- Access students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Teach students as an entire small groups.
- Communicate with parents about students progresses.
- Work with individual students to challenge them to improve their abilities.
- Prepare students for standardized tests required by state.
- Develop and enforce classroom rules.
- Supervise students outside of the classroom during lunch time or otherwise, during detention.
- Grade students assignments to monitor progress.
Knowledge, Education, Training & Experience
- Teach students from the 9th grade through their Senior year.
- They major in a subject area.
- Learn how to present information to students that will do well in their future.
Salary/Hourly Wage
- For the high school teachers, they get paid $55,050.
- Education, training, and library occupations get paid $46,020.
- Total all occupations get paid $34,750.
