Library Lessons

The library had worked with all grade levels. Lessons taught with the library in October include; animal research, creating presentations, primary and secondary sources, creating book trailers, an author study of Walter Dean Myers, and citations.

Lunch Bunch

The October Lunch bunch was a success. Students enjoyed games, activities and books about Halloween. Close to 120 students participated in this.

The next Lunch Bunch will be held on November 18. The Theme will be Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Students will be able to sign up starting the 12th. Participation is limited to 20 students per lunch shift.

Library Use At Lunch

Students may come to the library during lunch. Students must eat their lunch prior to coming to the library. To come, students get a pass from the person in charge of lunch. Passes are limited to the first 15 people who request them daily per lunch period. Students coming during lunch may get books, use the computers to work on school work or play CoolMath games.

Extended Library Hours

The library will be open until 5:15 pm every Tuesday and Wednesday. Students wishing to stay must have a signed permission slip and have a way home at 5:15. Students may ride the activity bus. Students staying after must be productive in the library

Virginia Readers' Choice Reading Promotion

Students who read a VRC book and fill out a form will be entered in a drawing for prizes each month.

Students who read 4 or more will be eligible to attend the voting party in the spring
