LPS Parent Pride Patrol!

Don't know what LPS Parent Pride Patrol is? It is a program for parents to be involved and servant lead. It's an easy job, you are actively present, slightly intimidating, yet friendly and you get to wear a cool vest and have a Walkie Talkie. The Pride Patrol is a welcome presence in the hallways, stairwells and lunchroom. Parents can greet students, build rapport, check for hall passes and monitor safety. The time commitment is minimal. Time slots are in 30-minute increments. Sign up for one or several!

We currently have Pride Patrol on Mondays and Fridays.

Steps to get started:

  1. If you haven't already done so for this year, you will need to complete the yearly background check (this information is kept confidential) before serving (you don't hear back unless there is an issue)
Sign up for a time slot here
Show up for your time slot(s) at the Secondary Front Office. You will need to check in with your ID. There will be a special place to get your Pride Patrol vest and Walkie Talkie.
  1. Review this list of things to look for and do while on patrol

Yearbook Defending their National Recognition!

The student yearbook staff is well on their way to defending their National Yearbook Program of Excellence standing. They have earned 2 of the three badges required to place in the contest. If they win the third year, this would be the third year they are designated a national program of excellence.

This year's team has 2 senior editors: Project Manager Ramya Potula and Senior Creative Editor Anne Cross. The Yearbook club is over 20 people that volunteer their time to submit photos!

Accelerated Instruction on Saturday!

LPS has decided to extend Saturday School for students who need AI Tutoring Hours through the end of the 2022-23 school year. This means any student who needs hours toward their 30 Hours of tutoring for any STAAR subject they failed can come to Saturday AI School from 8:30 to 12:30. Remember, 30 hours of tutoring is needed for each STAAR subject a student fails. For students who failed more than one STAAR subject, Saturday School might be necessary for your student to complete their required number of tutoring hours for each subject. AI Saturday School is also a great resource for students who are struggling in a subject and need extra help prior to testing. Students should be dropped off at the main front entrance of the school and check in with Ms. Ray at the front desk once they enter the building before reporting to their tutoring classroom. If you have any questions regarding AI Saturday School, please contact Loralea Ray at lray@lpsfrisco.com. Please be sure to reference your student’s name, grade, and subjects needed for tutoring in the email.

Community Service Hours are Required EACH Semester

We need 24% of our students to log in and start using the app to reach full usage!
