Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders
We greatly appreciate your help and patience, as we work to create a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up experience for all of our LVE families and students. Here are a few reminders of ways in which we can work together to help the process run more smoothly:
What to Do:
- Complete the Parent Pick Up Registration. (Without this you will need to show identification.)
- Pull all the way forward in the line. We want the entire sidewalk filled with cars before students are released. This allows the maximum number of cars to fill each time.
- Stay in your car at all times.
- Students must enter and exit curbside.
- Remind your student to listen for his/her name while waiting in the gym for pick up.
- During a.m. drop off, once your student is safely out and walking towards the building, please pull out of the drop off lane.
- Have your student ready to exit in the morning. As you wait in the line, prepare your child to exit curbside quickly.
- During p.m. pick up, please encourage your child to enter the car quickly. If your child needs help buckling his/her seatbelt, please pull into a parking spot to do so once you have picked him/her up from the curb.
- Display your parent pick up tag in front window or on the visor for p.m. pick up.
- Do not encourage your child to move from the sidewalk as you drive up. We hold students until cars have stopped for their safety.
5th Grade Outdoor Experience
LVE's fifth graders are scheduled to visit Quail Ridge Park on Wednesday, September 19th and Broemmelsiek Park on Thursday, September 20th. We have begun sharing information regarding the 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience schedule, appropriate attire and any supplies students may need to bring.
Please note that on both days students will depart from school shortly after morning announcements and will arrive back to school by 6:00 P.M. Parents will need to pick up their child from Lakeview each day. Students will also need a sack lunch each day they attend.
The cost for the 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience is $25 per student. This fee covers snacks, curriculum supplies, transportation and a 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience t-shirt.
Our staff is looking forward to having your child join us and will assist you in any way possible! If you have any questions or concerns, please call Mr. Gill, 5th Grade Outdoor Learning Experience Director at 636-332-2923 or email him at troygill@wsdr4.org.

LVE Choir Performance at the St. Louis Cardinals Game - September 16th
On Sunday, September 16th, the LVE choir will be performing "God Bless America" prior to the start of the St. Louis Cardinals game. The game time has been changed from 1:15pm to 7:05pm, due to ESPN selecting it as the Sunday Night Game. Tickets are still available for $20. This price includes a free jumbo hot dog and soda. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please contact Denise Bartlow at denisebartlow@wsdr4.org.
Lakeview Behavior Matrix and Character Safari
At the beginning of each school year, we spend time teaching students our building expectations for behaviors. Students learn appropriate and safe behaviors for all areas and settings of our school. We utilize these “universal expectations” to help promote good choices and positive behavior in our building. Our expectations focus on Lakeview students being respectful, responsible, and safe.
This year, our fourth grade students led our Kindergarten through third grade students on a Character Safari, during which they taught and modeled LVE's universal expectations. We are so proud of our fourth grade students for successfully stepping into a leadership role. Our fifth and sixth graders will also be refining their leadership skills throughout the year by partaking in a self-manager program. More information about this particular program will be forthcoming as the year progresses.
For your reference, we have attached our K-3 expectations matrix as well as our 4-6 matrix. Please review the matrix with your child and encourage him or her to show these characteristics both inside and outside of LVE.
