Lawrence Labrador Lowdown

November 12, 2021

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

Leading Labs: Each week, staff recognizes students for demonstrating respect, responsibility, safety, and leadership. All nominated names are put on a spinner and one lucky Labrador from each grade level receives a special prize. The video of the "Spinner w\Winners" is shared in the weekly Labrador Lowdown.

PAW Awards: As a way to acknowledge students on the spot for demonstrating Leading Lab Expectations, staff members pass out PAW awards. Students are able to trade PAW awards in for prizes during their lunch recess.

Behavior Form: Lawrence Elementary started implementing the behavior form below to help communicate situations in which students have forgotten to exhibit Leading Lab Expectations (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible). As we shared with students, it takes a team to develop leadership skills. If a student receives a form, they are expected to share it with their parents, obtain a signature, and return the form to school. If parents would like a copy of the form, we suggest taking a picture with a smartphone or requesting a copy from the school office.
