No School, Friday, April 26th- Battle of the Flowers Holiday for Staff and Students
Another fantastic week here at Tuscany Heights Elementary School! Our student leaders have been hard at work learning and leading. Some of my proud principal moments are below:
Some of our wonderful students participated in the NEISD Special Olympics, and all of them came back with ribbons to represent their amazing determination and dedication. Way to go boys and girls!
Tiger Families came together Tuesday night for dinner and earned our school over $600. Thank you for teaming together, and most of all, coming out to dine with our Tiger Family.
Our 3rd grade students held their Pencilmania Sale today after carefully designing their pencils and decorating posters to advertise their products. The students selected to donate part of their profits to an agency selected by the grade level. They chose the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of a 3rd Grade Peer, Weston, fighting T1D. Together, the students raised about $500 to give to the organization based on their Pencilmania Project Based Learning Unit on Finance. We are so proud of our students, teachers, and all the families supporting them.
The Tiger Beat Choir brought beautiful messages to our community through songs and stories. While visiting the Emerald Oaks Retirement Center, our students sang to the audience, sang along with the residents, and then read books to them before venturing over to the San Antonio International Airport where they sernaded the visitors there. No matter how many times I hear them, my heart still swells with love and pride for how talented these students are at such an early age. You can see videos on our social media!
Our First Graders wrapped up the week with their Fantastic First Grade Fiesta Parade. Speaking of talent, we saw first grade creativity at it's best! This definitely put us in the spirit of Fiesta.
There are so many happenings around campus, and our students are leading in a powerful way. Together, we raised $1300 for March of Dimes, $11, 000 for American Heart, and currently have collected over 3,000 plastic bags for our HEB Recycling Campaign. We set a 5,000 bag goal. Can we have your plastic bags? Final day to bring them in will be Monday, April 29th.
We have more fun things coming up. Stay connected by following us on social media. The links are posted above for your convenience.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us! They are the heartbeat of our school.

National Therapy Animal Day
In honor of National Therapy Animal Day, we are joining thousands of bakers from all over the country who are breaking out their mixing bowls and whipping up some treats for our animal friends. Treats & Sweets Day is the yummiest fundraising event of the year! I’m taking my knack for baking and putting it to good use to support Pet Partners, and I need your help!
Come by our Treats & Sweets sale to grab some tasty homemade items, make a donation, or make an online gift to our Treats & Sweets efforts. Thank you for making the world a whole lot sweeter!
We are looking for student bakers to make homemade dog or cat treats, speakers to advertise our event on the announcements, and volunteers for our table in the rotunda.
We will be passing out bags of treats for a donation on Tuesday, 4/30 before school in the rotunda.
See Mrs. Holeman if you are interested in helping out this year!
Parent Survey (Classes/Workshops for Parents)
In an on-going effort to grow our family engagement opportunities, we have created a Qualtrics survey to get feedback on what classes/workshops parents would like to attend for the 2019-2020 school year as well as what days/times are good for them. This is a similar electronic questionnaire to last year’s survey.
