Grade 6 with Mrs. Hrabnicky
Students in Grade 6 are finding ways to enjoy their learning on-line, and getting very creative!
Mrs. Hrabnicky had her students create a response to literature,
sharing how the character made a change using Flipgrid.
Click on this Link to see her work!
Here is the assignment:
Share a character bio of Marie in the story "There Were Giants"
1. Consider what song would be playing. Play it in the background if possible.
2. How she would appear.
3. What stickers she would use.
4. Which hashtags she would add.
5. Show how she changed in the story. Think of her traits, her actions, her thoughts, what others think
Use text evidence to supply your audience with more evidence.
Caitlin brought in her kayak to sit on her counter to reenact the scene.
She has been working extremely hard.
We are very proud of her!
Grade 8 Math with Mrs. Novak
Our students had to complete math problems and as they answered them correctly it spelled out a message to them. It was a challenging and engaging activity for everyone!
SOOOOOO fun!!!

Shout Out to SMS Students
Shout out to Sal A.
Sal independently decided to test a new platform that was going to be used for Peer Reading Club the evening before, discovered a technical issue, contacted Mrs. Battle to let her know, and then worked through troubleshooting with her over a 2 day period. Sal demonstrated many characteristics of a Model Mustang: resilience, innovation, collaboration, and empowered. Thanks Sal, you are the best!
