Main Thing 1: Teacher Appreciation Week
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! Join us in thanking our amazing teachers for going above and beyond for our students everyday. Our teachers truly embody our leadership definition by holding students at the center of their work and bringing our shared vision to life. Our theme this year is Keep Calm and Teach On because we know this has been an incredibly challenging year. Let’s join together and finish the year strong for and with our students. Enjoy the celebrations this week, you deserve it!
Main Thing 2: Attendance Zoning Next Steps
We are getting closer to having new attendance zones at the Medford School District. Attendance Zoning Gallery Walks are now over. Hundreds of people filled out the feedback form either in-person or online. Thank you to everyone who did!
The Attendance Zoning Committee will use the feedback to make a recommendation to the board this Thursday, May 5. The recommendation(s) will be pushed out publicly on Friday, May 6. The community will have a chance to provide input at a Public Hearing at the Board Meeting on May 19. The Board is expected to make a decision on June 2nd. The attendance zone changes will go into effect when Oakdale Middle School opens in August 2023.

Work Well Survey
We want to work well in the Medford School District! To do so, we strive to embody our Leadership Definition by embracing feedback and using it to improve our system. We want to hear from you on how this school year is going. Please take this year’s Work Well Survey; it only takes a few minutes! The survey closes on May 16.
The goal of the survey is to learn how we can improve as a district and retain our high quality employees. Since last year’s survey, many schools have used the data to make small adjustments with big impacts. We also utilized the results as the catalyst for our new wellness program called Vida Health. Vida Health is free and connects employees with wellness coaches or therapists, in addition to tools aimed at improving fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness.
