The First Amendment

The First Amendment
The first amendment is arguably one of the most important amendments that we have on our constitution. It gives these rights: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, and the right to assemble peacefully. The article in the Constitution states " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." As citizens of the United States we use these rights every day of our lives. It is one amendment that many would not want to use. It was ratified on December 15, 1791 with the rest of the Bill of Rights
Freedom of Speech
