Red Raider Alert
Bellingham High School - February 1, 2019
From the Princial's Office
Welcome to February and the start of a new semester! Students are settling into their new classes, and teachers are finishing first semester grades. Final grades will be available online next week, and printed report cards will be mailed home soon.
February is also the month in which students make choices for next year’s classes. Pre-registration activities begin with an “Elective Fair” during Raiderade next Monday and Tuesday, February 4 and 5. Students in grades 9-11 will attend four sessions of their choice to learn about various courses, while Seniors will meet in the library both days for important Senior information. On Friday students will watch a registration video, and online registration for next year’s classes will be open through March 15.
Next year’s master schedule is based on student course choices, so it is important that students thoughtfully select their classes. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with your student about their interests and future goals as they plan for next year. Course information is available in the online catalog and through the counseling office. We also encourage you to attend our College Credit @ BHS program, next Thursday at 6:30 p.m., to learn about college credit opportunities within our BHS building.
This month offers numerous events to watch our talented Raider students through athletic events, robotics competitions, drama performances, and more. Check out our school calendar or weekly bulletin under the “Families” section of our website for details. It’s great to be a Red Raider!
Linda Wise Miller, BHS Principal
Coach McClement - Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year!
“Coach McClement is deserving of this honor because he is incredibly committed to our students, the sport and our school. He lives out our Collective Commitments. Mr. McClement not only sets high standards for his student-athletes, he also guides them through the steps they need to take, with an eye on continuous growth -to improve and compete at a high level. These steps are the same successful building blocks our students can use for life beyond BHS.”Congratulations Coach McClement! (The Coaches Association previously recognized Coach McClement in 2012 as 2A Boys Coach of the Year and in 2008 as 2A Girls Coach of the Year.)
