The Big Four refers to the top Allied leaders who met at the Paris Peace Conference in January 1919 following the end of World War I (1914–18). The Big Four are also known as the Council of Four. It was composed of Woodrow Wilson of the United States, David Lloyd George of Britain, Vittorio Orlando of Italy, and Georges Clemenceau of France.
PEACE!
An address given by President Woodrow Wilson on January 22, 1917. He proposed peace terms for ending the war and defined the traditional use of victory as being anathema to the establishment of peace among nations. After U.S. entry into World War I on April 16, 1917, he proposed peace terms in the Fourteen Points address, which was based on this speech.
