Message from our Director

Dear Parents,

We had a great Share the Love Day on Friday. We were able to conduct several tours and that is always good to bring parents and students into the school for a visit. We could use more students registering for next year, so encourage others to come and join us. We are always willing to take parents around for a tour.

Last week we met in our board meeting and we discussed several agenda items for the remainder of the school year. One of those items is a calendar for next year. Calendars can be tricky to meet the state requirements. After examining several district and charter school calendars we were able to come up with an acceptable format that followed the surrounding school's models.

Some of the changes for next year are fifteen minutes added to the end of the day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Our school hours will be 8:30 am – 3:15 pm. This will help facilitate the other change on the calendar so that our hours are 8:30 am – 1:45 pm on Wednesday. Kindergarten schedules will also change. Our 2020-2021 calendar will be available on our website this week.

Our teachers are required to complete a great deal of professional development each year. This early out will facilitate the teachers participating in professional development within their contract hours. Through this professional development we can discuss the methods that will best benefit your children as they attend Maria Montessori Academy.

We appreciate your support of the school, teachers and your children in their educational programs.

Best regards,

Mr. Mike

School policy on caffeinated beverages

Maria Montessori Academy believes in promoting healthy lifestyles for our students. Please refer to our parent handbook for the guidelines to our lunch program. Please do not send energy drinks or soda in your student's lunches. Also we are seeing more and more students coming in to the school in the morning with energy drinks, soda and drinks from Starbucks. These items should not be consumed at all on school grounds.

Permission Slips

Field Trips at MMA are either educationally oriented or service based. Those that are educationally oriented can be very important to a student's grade and should be attended if possible. Please return all permission slips in a timely matter as having an accurate count of students attending is important to ensure a proper student/chaperone ratio.
