Parking at School Events
Be mindful of any specific parking rules your school/business office may have. For example, there are often employee lots reserved for certain employees. Know about these cordoned off parks before selecting a spot in which to leave your vehicle for the event/day.
Once selecting a spot, make sure to follow all the rules explained in previous sections. This includes speed, distance, and size of parking space before pulling your vehicle into the selected spot. Be aware that in many school/business parking lots, parking is not the only activity, but there may be a lot of loads being unloaded and packed, in tall vehicles, that can make it more congested and difficult to see your way clear. This makes it even more important to be very careful and follow the parking lot instructions, for your own safety and for the safety of other people.
Be particularly mindful of parking arrows designating traffic within the lot a certain direction and no parking zones. Going the wrong way causes accidents, while parking in no parking zones can impact loading and packing operations. It may also mean that your car registration is called out over the intercom and you have to sheepishly leave a meeting to move your car. Even WORSE, you may be ticketed.

SENIORS!!! Class of 2019
As we enter the final weeks before the holiday break, OHS would like to remind our soon to be graduating seniors of key dates in the second semester and the increasing scholarship opportunities available through our counseling department. Please see below for these and other important messages for our soon to be graduating seniors.
Race to FAFSA:
Oxford has joined several other high school in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County in the “Race to the FAFSA Line.” This is a challenge with goals to increase the FAFSA (Student Aid) completion rate in Southeast Michigan from 60 percent to 65 percent. FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Oxford will be promoting FAFSA completion and providing information material to support these goals to our senior students and their families.
If you have not yet completed and submitted your FAFSA application, be sure to apply for a FSA ID (student and parent will need to create a username and password) at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa.
Important Dates Quick View:
Please print out the Important Dates for the Class of 2019 Quickview document to post on the fridge and serve as a reminder of key dates for this coming spring. This document is also located on your students Haiku page under 2019 Seniors tab. This page of Haiku will become a valuable resource for both yearbook and graduation related events throughout the year.
Class of 2019 All Night Party
Planning is underway for the Class of 2019 Senior All Night Party (SANP) to be held on May 23, 2019 at the Legacy Center. It promises to be a special night to remember. Entertainment, activities, food and prizes provide a fun, safe and exciting graduation celebration for our seniors.
The All Night Party requires MANY adult volunteers throughout the year and thousands of dollars to make your student’s final graduation experience fabulous. Please ensure that this party is one of the greatest times your senior will have by volunteering your time, donating prizes and/or making a financial contribution.
Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m.
Legacy 925
925 N Lapeer Rd
Oxford, MI 48371
There are lots of individual jobs so no one needs to do a lot.
- Please email babbswatson@hotmail.com if you would like to volunteer.
- If you would like to donate a prize and/or make a financial contribution, please email colmoore22@gmail.com.
Local Scholarship Opportunities:
As we head into the new year, please make sure to stop by the counseling office to check out the Big Board of Scholarship opportunities and their respective deadlines. This board will be updated frequently, so make sure to visit often. A current listing of available scholarships can also be found on the OHS counseling website at http://oxfordhigh.oxfordschools.org/academics/counseling/scholarship_information, as well as on the Naviance Student website.
