MHS Shout Out!

Congratulations to MHS Student Grecia Manrique who not only scored a 5 on her AP Spanish exam last May but was also one of only 63 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam, receiving the maximum score on each portion of the exam.

We are incredibly proud of Grecia and know you will join us in celebrating her success!

MHS Homecoming Dance - October 1st!

The following message was sent to all students in grades 11 and 12 yesterday about Saturday's Homecoming Dance:

Students and Families of the Class of 2023 and 2024,

As a follow up to our letter yesterday, we continue to be excited to be hosting the Homecoming Dance this weekend! Due to the possibility of inclement weather, we have decided to move the dance to the MHS Field House.

Details of the dance remain the same:

The dance will be from 6-9pm, all students must arrive by 6:45pm.

The entrance to the dance will be at the Field House doors in the rear of the school. For any student driving to the dance, please park in the student parking lot. For students being dropped off, please be dropped off at the Field House doors. There is a Milton Academy football game occurring at Brooks Field that evening and we are trying to minimize traffic to the best of our ability.

Students are able to leave the dance at their own discretion but there is no re-entry.

Pizza, Desserts, and Waters will be served

Additionally thank you so much to the incredible families that have donated food, water, decorations, supplies, money and their time!! If you signed up to assist in decorating on Friday, we are no longer in need of this assistance since the dance location has moved. If you signed up to assist in decorating on Saturday, please come to the Field House at 3:45pm.

Please contact Jennie Beliveau (jbeliveau@miltonps.org) or Kelly Conaty (kconaty@miltonps.org) with any further questions regarding Homecoming.

MHS Site Council

School Site Councils are important resources for building principals and maintain members from the faculty/staff, student body, and parents/guardians. Members of this group work to make sure our School Improvement Plan is being implemented, handbooks are up to date and address any other questions that come our way. MHS is looking for parent/guardian volunteers to be on our site council. If you are interested please email Karen Cahill at kcahill@Miltonps.org.

Athletics

Congratulations to MHS Varsity Football Coach Steve Dembowski, who was named New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week! Coach Dembowski, currently in his eighth year as head coach of the Wildcat football team, led the team to their third-straight win on Friday night to improve to a perfect 3-0 on the season. It’s the fourth time the team has started a season 3-0 under Coach Dembowski.

Patriots, College, and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, now the team’s Executive Director of Community Affairs, met with our captains and coaching staff Tuesday morning to present the football program with a $1,000 donation on behalf of the Patriots Foundation in honor of Coach Dembowski. “Coach Dembowski’s Wildcats sustained their offensive excellence this week as they beat the Panthers to keep their undefeated record,” said Tippett. “They benefited from great quarterback play, and the rest of the team fed off that energy. We wish them luck ahead of entering league play.”

The team looks to continue to ride their hot streak into their Bay State Conference slate of games starting Friday night at 7pm at Brooks Field against Walpole, who has also started 3-0. Roll ‘Cats!
