CLAIRES COURT SENIOR BOYS SPORTS DAY
On Friday 1 July our annual Sports Day takes place at Thames Valley Athletics Centre, Pococks Lane, Eton, SL4 6HN. A large number of Year 7 - 10 pupils will be competing in a total of 46 athletics events, with the House Sports Day cup at stake. The first event starts at 3.15pm with the final event taking place at 5.20pm. All parents will be most welcome to attend.
Mr J M Turner (Director of Sport)
BBQ Helpers
The Claires Court Senior Boys PTA are looking for helpers to assist with the serving of the BBQ at this year’s summer fete, the BBQ runs from 12 noon-4pm and ideally we will have 6 people working at any one time. It would be great if we had enough volunteers to rotate the BBQ team every hour. If you are able to volunteer your help please contact me by email at c.e.webster@btinternet.com or telephone 07990 973354.
FROM THE HEAD'S DESK
As I write this it is raining again and all thoughts of progressing with our Cricket Fixtures (and the Old Boys Match) are washed away.
I can report that the Medieval Day for Year 7 was a great success and I hope Year 11 have their wet weather gear as they enjoy the day at Thorpe Park.
Year 10 have joined with the girls for a morning of Careers talks and Blue Sky motivational talks with David Hyner.
I hope to see parents on the bank of the Thames tonight when the U18 Eight is racing in the Qualifying event for the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup (18 40), the Quad have qualified for the Fawley Challenge Cup.
The parents and boys have put a great deal of effort into ensuring the Fete will be a success, i hope to see you there.
Mr Roach invites you on Monday Evening to come and enjoy the Music Concert, always a memorable event.
And with Brexit in mind;
The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Alan Watts

PTA - Summer Fete
Summer Fete on Saturday 25 June
This year the theme of our fete is 'The Great Outdoors', a theme inspired by the allotment and bushcraft projects the PTA have recently supported.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to take a stall at this year’s event please contact me at emmarobertson@hotmail.co.uk. We are also looking for a number of raffle prizes. If you are able to contribute something please contact me at the same address.
If you pay online then please remember to send in your prize draw entry to the school office and it also assists us with how many tickets you require. Please click here for the ticket order form.
Special Attraction at the Summer Fete
On Saturday 25 June, as part of our celebration of the great outdoors, we are being visited by the Great Gun Dog Company and their wonderful dogs.
They will be giving demonstrations on how to handle and train the dogs. Pupils (aged 3 to 12) who wish to learn how to 'work' the dogs are then invited to practice the commands that they see in the demonstration.
After the event, two or three children will be selected and given certificates as finalists and will have the opportunity to progress to the ISA Gundog Challenge national final at the Midland Game Fair on the17th September 2016. All finalists, along with parents, will receive free passes to the weekend event. More information
There is also an opportunity for pupils to take part in a poster competition. All they have to do is download the template– get creative and draw their dream playground and bring the final poster to the fete. The best winning entry for the poster design will win a £20 Amazon voucher.
