Principal's Message
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:
By now, you've all received communication from Dr. Sparlin and SD308 about the decision to remain in Remote Learning For All. We have worked very hard to prepare for the return to in-person learning, and are saddened that we'll have to wait longer to see our students 'in real life.' However, we understand that the dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases locally has made it unsafe to bring our students back to the buildings. We also know that changes, and sometimes the lack of change, can cause anxiety. We will continue to support our students as we have been. We have been pleased with the routines that have been set up and are looking forward to continuing what we're now used to. Thank you for supporting your child, your child's teacher, Lakewood Creek, and SD308.
PARENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM
The e-form is available in Tyler for parents to read and complete. It is required that parents read and acknowledge receipt of this notice PRIOR to students attending in-person classes, services or activities. ALL Elementary parents should log into Tyler to complete this task as soon as possible. It outlines parent responsibility to check students for wellness prior to attending school. Even those who chose to complete the 2nd trimester at home should complete the form. Thank you!!
As your child is participating in school activities, attending the food truck fundraisers, or even trick or treating, please share your pictures with our HSO, who will use them for our yearbook. You can upload your images to: https://images.schoolannualonline.com/415563982

Science Update
During the second and third trimesters, EVEN IN REMOTE FOR ALL, students will work on science at home during their independent work time. Classroom teachers will not be providing direct instruction for science as they will focus on the core curricular areas: reading/Social Studies, writing, and math. Each week, your child's teacher will provide links to Amplify Science @Home Videos for your child to watch during independent work time and on Wednesdays. Your child does not need to recreate any of the demonstrations as these are all done in the video; however, please feel free to use household items if you would like them to do so. Also, your child does not need a science investigation notebook to complete these videos at home. S/he can simply use a piece of paper or notebook to follow along with the videos. Since direct instruction will not be taking place during the second and third trimesters, there will not be a science grade on the progress report. There will be no assignments or assessments as this is an independent study. We appreciate your understanding as we want our teachers to focus on the core curricular areas (reading/Social Studies, writing, and math) as we continue to move through our hybrid schedule of in-person and remote instruction.
If you have any questions, please reach out directly to your child's teacher or building administration. Thank you!
