Grade 4 Expedition
We had a great cycle around the plantation.
The days are flying by, day 3 almost over, the children have just enjoyed a campfire virtues reflection before bedtime and most are now asleep, all ready for our sunrise hike at 5am.
The cycle around the plantation was our highlight today, with the beautiful weather and clear skies we all enjoyed the challenge of the route and the beautiful views that it afforded for miles around.
All the children have cycled today, for our non riders the staff at the retreat offered some beginner sessions, it was good to see the enthusiasm that these children showed today and the support that was given by other students.
The majority of children completed the 15km route, we offered a shorter 5km route for some intermediate cyclists.
Back at the camp we have had an amazing race, sporting challenges and some arts and crafts activities.
The food has been good today with a beautiful pasta dish, fish and chips tonight and some lovely desserts along the way.
We are leaving the retreat at midday tomorrow and heading for the checkpoint.
We will keep in touch with you about our arrival time back at school as we can be delayed at the border, estimated arrival around 3.30pm. at the High School fountain.
With best wishes,
The Expedition Team.
