News from Mrs. Hilcher - Timberline Principal
Week of May 23, 2022
Tiger Families,
It is hard to believe that we are entering into the last week of the 21-22 school year. It has been another unique school year as we navigated the changes that COVID-19 posed and navigated challenges with icy weather and the special academic and emotional needs of our students. Our teachers and students have exemplified grit and perseverance this year and we appreciate how you have supported your Timberline Tiger through it all! We are #TigerStrong because of our collective efforts. Have a wonderful and safe summer with your family. If you child is returning to Timberline next year, please be sure to complete their enrollment on Skyward and we will see you in August!
Tiger Pride,
Liz Hilcher

School Supply Lists for 22-23
We are sharing the supply lists for elementary grades so you can begin planning and shopping while the back to school deals are happening!

Leaders Use Their Voice!
As we get closer to closing out the end of the year we are looking for your voice and feedback. We will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from these surveys will also help us track the impacts of the Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. Below is additional information about the process and content of the surveys:
The survey does not ask for your name or other identifying information.
The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household.
The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school.
If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth.
The survey will be open until June 1st.

Survey Regarding HSI
GCISD is reviewing human sexuality instruction in light of changes made by the Texas Legislature and the adoption of a new health textbook. As GCISD considers next steps in light of these changes, we are seeking parental input and feedback.
The District has already emailed to parents a letter via Skyward that further explains legislative changes and reviews the District's current practices. We encourage parents who want to become more familiar with the District's current human sexuality instruction, and to learn about potential new instructional materials, to learn more by visiting the GCISD website, then complete the survey.
Video instructions on accessing the survey can be watched here. If you plan to not opt your child into this portion of the health education curriculum, we are asking that you still complete the survey.
We look forward to, and appreciate parents' feedback. If you have questions, please contact gcisd.survey@gcisd.net.
