Principal's Message

I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer! Maybe enjoyed a family vacation or will be soon! Hope everyone has been enjoying some reading this summer as well. I'd love to hear more about what everyone has been reading when we return to school!

There is some news to share regarding our search for a 2nd and 6th grade teacher. I am excited to announce that we have hired for both positions! Both teachers came highly recommended, highly qualified, and with exciting new ideas ready to be a part of the St. Mary School team!

Marissa Migra will be our new 2nd grade teacher. She comes to us from Amherst Schools where she taught kindergarten.

Jack Beatty will be our new 6th grade Language Arts/Reading teacher. Jack comes to us from Avon Schools where he taught 6th grade.

Be on the look out for more in-depth introductions to our new teachers on our Facebook page and website!

Beginning of Year Updates

Beginning in August, the Mariner Minutes will begin to come home weekly again with weekly updates for the start of the year. In that same note, I have been in communication with the Erie County Health Department to gather the most up-to-date information on COVID-19 and the coming school year. There will be additional information on the 21-22 school year COVID-19 policies coming in the next week.

Looking Ahead: Parent Involvement

PSO and School Advisory Committee are looking for parent help. Please consider helping with either organization for the 21-22 school year. As we approach the beginning of school more information will be sent on how to get involved.

PSO is in charge of helping with additional school activities such as the Fall Festival, Santa Shop, and Bike-A-Thon. This past year was an odd year for PSO for involvement, but we are all looking forward to the fun activities that PSO may come up with for the future.

School Advisory Committee advises the Pastor and Principal in their implementation of effective Catholic education. The Committee provides recommendations, coordinates activities and events, encourages fruitful discussion concerning school matters, creates understanding and support for Catholic education, establishes subcommittees as needed, and encourages proper and effective communication between parents and school administration.
