FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S PEN
Tēnā koutou katoa
I hope this newsletter finds everybody enjoying the warmer spring weather.
This week our senior students have just completed their last full week of tuition for the year and by now will have received their results from the practice exams. To those students who are tracking well, congratulations. To those who experienced disappointment in the exams or results that they want to improve on, please remember that there is still time to improve. Please see your learning mentor if you need to discuss your approach, or talk to your subject teachers if you require further assistance.
Next week is an exciting week in the school year as we celebrate student achievement for the year and make our final farewells to those leaving the secondary school system. Our sports awards, senior prizegiving and last whole school Thanksgiving Mass all take place next week. Parents, whanau and friends are very welcome to join us in these celebrations. Last year we were not able to invite families to our ceremonies due to restrictions in place from Covid. This year we are back to normal and we would love to celebrate another great year with you and your whanau and I am sure that the students would enjoy having you with us as well. Hopefully we will see many of you next week.

MEET THE TEACHER
We are holding a parent afternoon on Monday, 31st October, from 3.10pm to 4.30pm for any parents of senior students who may wish to meet with teachers regarding the recent school examination results. If you would like to meet, please contact the College Office with the names of the teachers you wish to meet, your child’s name and the time that works best for you.
UPCOMING CELEBRATIONS
We are very excited about our upcoming week of celebrations. We begin by recognising sporting success with our Sports Prizegiving on Tuesday, followed by our Senior Academic Prizegiving on Wednesday. Our leavers will be farewelled at our Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday. We hope that you may be able to join us in our celebrations.
NZQA EXTERNAL ASSESSMENTS AND TIMETABLE
NZQA external examination information has been emailed to students sitting exams. Students in Years 11 - 13 will begin study leave after the Leavers' Mass on Thursday 3 November. It is extremely important that all students are familiar with the rules and instructions of the NZQA exams and that they know the date and time of each examination. If there are any issues at all, students should see Mrs Sadler as soon as possible. Please see the attached examination timetable.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Congratulations to Morgan-Marie Tamatea who whose team Horouta Girls U13 tackle rugby won the 'Best and Fairest' team at the NZ Junior Girls Rugby Festival, with a win against Invercargill. A PRAYER FOR OUR STUDENT LEAVERS
God our Father,
Bless all our departing students as they prepare to leave Campion College.
Bless them as they leave this place where You have been present among them.
Bless all those who have given their time to our students.
Bless all those that work and study at Campion College.
May our leavers go forth from here, confident in themselves and willing to serve others.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord,
Amen
