Hardware And Software
By Maisie Tyler
What is hardware and software?
Hardware is a technical that you can touch, like a computer, screen or scanner. On the other hand a software is something you can't touch, just like Microsoft word or PowerPoint. Hardware is also best described as any physical component of a computer system. Software means computer instructions or data. Anything that can be stored electronically is software, in contrast to storage devices and display devices which are called hardware.
What are they used for?
Software is an ordered sequence of instructions for changing the state of the computer hardware in a particular sequence. Software is typically programmed with a user-friendly interface that allows humans to interact more efficiently with a computer system. Without any hardware, a computer would not function, and software would have nothing to run on. Hardware and software interact with one another: software tells hardware which tasks it needs to perform.
Software
Some examples of software are computer programs, procedures, and documentation that perform some tasks on a computer system. Here are some more examples:
♥System software
♥Programming software
♥Application software
Hardware
Some examples of is best described as a device, such as hard drive, that is physically connected to the computer or something that can be physically touched. Here are some more examples:
♥Input
♥Storage
♥Processing
♥Control
♥Output devices.
What are input, output and storage devices?
Input is a place where, or a device through which, energy or information enters a system. An output is a place where power or information leaves a system. A storage device is a piece of computer equipment on which information can be stored.
