This publication showcases construction progress made across the district. The projects listed are the result of the successful April 2021 referendum, in which residents voted to approve $98 million in facilities updates at all eight HSSD schools. Acoustical Deck

Acoustical deck is being installed in Area B so new roofing can continue.

Plumbing

Foundations are being backfilled with underground plumbing in the new gym area.

New Walls

Ceiling mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) rough-in continues in preparation for new walls.

What's Next

  • Infilling floor that was cut out for underground plumbing and electrical.
  • Masons will finish foundations and walls, then some new gym walls will be built.

Firewall

The masons made steady progress on the new firewall for the gym addition.

Gym Addition

The final foundation wall of the gym addition has been excavated and is currently being poured.

Framing

The steel framing process has been completed in Area D.

What's Next

  • Interior demolition will continue in Area C.
  • HVAC, electric, and plumbing demo and installation will continue.
  • The masons will continue work in the gym addition.
  • The final side of the gym addition will continue to be poured and finished.
  • USA Fire Protection will begin installing pipes.

Hallway Demo

Hallways have been demolished. The ceiling grid on the first floor is complete and the second floor is close to completion.

Windows

Exterior window work is ongoing. Waterproofing has been installed.

What's Next

  • Steel will be installed, followed by elevator installation.
  • Exterior window systems will continue and the beginning pieces of the metal wall panels will be installed.

Bathrooms

Plumbing inspection is complete, concrete floor was reinstalled, and steel studs are going up in the bathroom.

Building Footprint

The building footprint has expanded slightly. The door frames have been demolished and are ready for new frames to be installed.

What's Next

  • Equipment for trenching has been delivered to the site.
  • Inwall rough-ins will be installed in the bathroom.
  • Electrical adjustments are ongoing.

Window Removal

Window demolition is complete. Some areas are receiving new window systems.

Ceilings and Lighting

Ceilings and lights have been installed in a majority of the rooms.

What's Next

  • Diffuser installation will continue.
  • New window systems will be intalled.
  • Cast stone sills, corridor repair work, and metal wall panel systems will be completed.
