#TeamPenn WAG
August 3 - 7, 2020
So impressed with all of you!
Hi all,
Please make sure to read the details below in "this week at Penn" since there have been updates/changes made. Thanks! This WAG has lots of new info so read it as many times as needed to let it all sink in. :)
The highlight of my week last week was doing a learning walk during your teaching blocks. I loved seeing your creative spaces, the way you are all creatively making your laptops tall, seeing your smiles while teaching, etc. For a moment, I forgot the rooms were empty and it reminded me that the magic of teaching is deep within each of you, even when you're the only one physically in the room. What a gift to witness.
Wishing you all a wonderful rest of your weekend and a great week ahead.
You give me hope,
Amy

Lastly, on May 15th Lauren Carvalho assigned all classified staff the Target Solutions Coronavirus 101: What You Need to Know. Please make sure you complete that training as soon as possible. In the coming days she will send out a District Nurses created COVID-19 video. This will ensure that we are all working with the same information and that we are all working together to prevent the spread of this virus. These training videos should be done while you are on paid status. Thank you in advance for completing these required training videos during your work time and in a timely manner.A back to school hello from Mrs. Lutz!
Hi Teachers & Staff,
I am working on making a Google Doc with links where you can find some fun library videos. Feel free to “assign” these throughout the week to your students.
I will let you know as soon as I am available to read aloud to your class during your Zoom meetings. It looks like Friday’s and maybe Tuesday’s will be the best days for me right now, hopefully starting this week. (Aug 3-7)
I do have some exciting news! I was able to purchase “extra” books from Copperfield's in May. On Wednesday, Aug. 4th, between 10am & 2pm, you are invited to stop by the multi to choose a few brand new books for your classrooms!! I picked them out myself. :)
I hope you are all doing well and having as much fun as possible with this crazy distance learning.

UPDATED: Mrs. Fadeji's Weekly Message for August 3rd
Coach K's Distance Learning 2.0 Resource Doc
1st week of: AROUND THE WORLD WEDNESDAYS!
This week is our first virtual field trip to.....
THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION! Adrienne has created this week's activities for you to push out to your students. You should have received an email from her about either the TK-3 Seesaw or 4-6 Google Classroom push out. All links have been checked and they should all work - YAY! I love how we can continue with a school wide activity to promote collaboration, community, and the power of shared experiences - EVEN during Distance Learning! This was identified as a staff priority last year before we all went #COVIDcrazy. For your convenience, I have included Adrienne's emails below. Thanks! ~Amy

Email #1 From Mrs. Olufs:
Hi all!
Here is the TK-4th grade hyperdoc for the International Space Station activities for next Wednesday 8/5. Here is the 5th & 6th Grade Doc: International Space Station 2. I'm working on getting all of the videos whitelisted so we should be good to go by then. Let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to extend or modify activities to meet your grade level's needs but remember that the goal was to have universal lessons for families with siblings on their independent work day. Thanks!

Updated email blurb as a reminder:
Hey everybody!
We're almost there! I hope you have some plans to relax or do something fun this weekend. As you're planning for next week, I wanted to give you an update on Wednesday's activity. Angela graciously created a Seesaw lesson that is in our school Seesaw Activity Library. However, we had to troubleshoot the links and make some changes so it will work for all students (fingers crossed!). The correct Seesaw activity that you can use to assign to your students is the one titled "Visit the International Space Station 8/5/20". DO NOT USE THE ONE WITHOUT THE DATE ON IT! That one has links that won't work for students and we can't delete it because people have already downloaded it.
If you don't know how to use Activities in Seesaw, it's so simple! I'm happy to help you. Just let me know if you need help. Thank you Angela!
