Principal's Message March 2018
March is a month that is full of learning time with few interruptions and no long weekends. We hope parent conferences helped everyone know what needs to be done to finish this year strong. The “Battle of the Books has been a fun way to watch enthusiasm build for reading. We know our students are talented and smart. We hope to bring that out in the assessments that are soon coming. Please help by emphasizing the importance of doing well to your students.
We appreciate the efforts to have students here everyday and on time. There is a correlation between being behind and having attendance problems. The month of March marks the beginning of the last term of the school year. It is the last push as we look over the year and consider things that need to be taught and learned. We are always concerned about the school climate and atmosphere. We want each student to feel safe and cared for here at school.
Our Lion Pride Pledge says we should “Respond appropriately to others”. Our March social skill is “How to Resolve Differences” Being proactive in teaching at home and at school can make a difference. I would ask that each parent have a discussion about good manners and proper, kind interaction. Young people are exposed to so much bad behavior in the media. We need your help at home to teach and encourage kindness. Manners and kind actions can never be over emphasized. Please help us as we strive to maintain a great environment where students look forward to coming. Let’s work together to make the last 3 months of this school year the best ever.
