Mother Son Event:
Friday night the halls of Middle Creek were bustling as Moms and their sons competed in dodgeball, noodle mania, Minute to Win It games, a fitness challenge and even a cake walk! Fantastic prizes were raffled off, photo booth pictures were taken, and delicious food was served.
Thank you to our amazing co-chairs, Taylor Goodnough and Glenn Covington, for their hard work as well as their committee members and volunteers: Erika Williams, Beth Lewis, Caroline Bird, Joshua Haddon, Kevin Kohl, Tonya Breslin, Mike Godwin, Angela Haddon, Sports HQ, and the Middle Creek High School Key Club. A big shout out goes to Mr. Trey Robinson, our PE teacher, for helping with set up, game organization, and cleanup! And finally, thanks to all of the vendors and restaurants who donated the food and prizes!

The first of two Durham Bulls "Bully Busters" Programs was cancelled two weeks ago due to school being out. This assembly has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 12th for Tracks 2 and 3.. The assembly for Monday March 16th is still scheduled and will be attended by Track 4. Unfortunately, the Durham Bulls need to end the program by March 31st, so a make up day for when Track 1 is in school is not possible. Therefore, Track 1 students are welcome to come in on the the March 16th date with a parent to see the assembly. Assembly times are 9:00 and 9:45. Details regarding the program can be found at

Boosterthon Fun Run:
Parents! We’re excited to host the 9-day Boosterthon Fun Run again as this year’s major fundraiser. We kick off the fun, healthy, and character-building program on Monday April 13th for Track 1,2,3 and Monday April 20thfor Track 4. Plus, students will be learning five ways to make their community rock with Boosterthon’s character theme Rock’n Town Live, a music festival theme all about community. Along the way, students will gather pledges for how many laps they’ll run at the Boosterthon Fun Run event, which is on Friday April 17th for Track 3 and Friday April 24th for Track 1,2,4. Your family is invited to come out and cheer on your student! Please help our school by connecting your student with sponsors to help us in raising funds to match WCPSS grant money in order to renovate the K-2 playground. Be on the lookout for more information coming home with your student about this fun program and volunteers opportunities. Thank you for your support! We are a stronger community because of YOU!"
Square One Art:
This fundraiser takes your child’s artwork and makes it into great products for you to purchase. These products are wonderful keepsakes and gifts for family and friends. Your child has been busy making beautiful artwork that can be made into many fun products such as magnets, t-shirts, mouse pads, ornaments and much more!
Be on the lookout for a custom catalog which will be coming home next week! Orders can be submitted using the paper order forms included in the packets or online.

PTA next Big Project
Now that the PTA has completed its work with Mrs. Parrish, Ms. Holland, and Ms. Fountain to help create the Learning Commons Area and equalize the distribution of computers in the classrooms, the PTA is ready to move forward with its next "Big Project." A few years back, the PTA matched WCPSS grant money to build a new playground for the 3-5 graders. The intention was always to address the K-2 playground needs, but technology needs took priority for the past few years. The PTA is now in a position to raise funds to again match WCPSS grant money to renovate the K-2 playground. Wake County has already be contacted regarding approved vendors. A playground committee needs to be formed to listen to the proposals of the various vendors, narrow down options, and decide on a company to use. Kendra Kelley, Beth Lewis, Jill Schwadron and Leigh Canulli have taken the lead on this so far, but need more parents to listen to the vendor presentations and provide input to help decide who to use. If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact Kendra Kelley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
