Workshop for Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma & Abuse
CoMHWA is offering FREE places to Consumers and Peer Support Workers to attend the workshop
CoMHWA has 5x free Consumer places available and 5x Free Peer Support Workers places available.
The workshop is designed for adults who have experienced childhood trauma and/or abuse in all its forms. It provides in-formation about childhood trauma/abuse, how it affects people, how they cope and how the brain responds to stress.
Grounded in the latest research, the material presented ena-bles participants to gain greater insight into themselves and their relationships, and to embrace hope and optimism about possibilities for recovery.
This workshop covers 5 main topics:

| Is it the same as child abuse?
| How does it relate to my life now?
| Effects and coping mechanisms
| Legacies and dynamics
| What you need to know about the brain(& how it can help)
| Towards recovery
Material presented in the training is comprehensive and draws on the latest research presented in the ASCA Practice Guidelines for Treatment of Complex Trauma
and Trauma Informed Care and Service Delivery www.asca.org.au/guidelines.
