🗞️ NEWS 🗞️
Dear Sheldon Community,
Four years ago, local voters passed a bond that is paying for new schools and improvements at existing school buildings. For Sheldon, that means improving student safety and security around the entirety of the building.
Starting June 19, Sheldon will embark on a project that improves student safety and security at the front of the building, controls access with a new secure front entryway, and installs fencing around the open areas of the campus. The project is scheduled for completion by August 18.
Sheldon's main office will be open Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–noon, and 1–3 p.m., but our usual front entrance will be closed during construction. Please look for clearly marked signage showing the temporary front entrance, located east of the main entry gate. In addition, the entry for all athletics and the arts department will continue at the front of the building through the west entry gate, which will be clearly marked.
Please see the attached reference sheets for the Sheldon Region. Feel free to call the front office with any questions at (541) 790-6600.

Oregon Business Academy (OBA), is now enrolling current 8th-11th graders for Business Week 2023 to take place at OSU Corvallis, July 16-22, 2023. Business Week is an outstanding leadership development and resume building opportunity for students.
“Business Week gave me the experience and confidence to hit the ground running in college. Let’s continue the learning! Eugene School District 4J’s popular summer intensive program provides students who will be in high school next year an opportunity to extend their learning into the summer months.
The short courses are designed and led by outstanding 4J teachers to engage students in innovative learning that includes meaningful experiences outside of a traditional classroom setting. High school credit is offered upon successful completion. Classes can last a few days to up to four weeks from June 19–August 11.
Course offerings explore exciting and timely topics of global and national importance and include cultural exploration and culturally diverse themes, as well as the arts and sciences.
Currently more than 30 summer intensive courses are scheduled, covering a wide range of topics including beekeeping, sewing, crimes scene science, robotics, soccer, weightlifting, engineering, Chinese language and culture, barista 101, and stop motion animation. New courses will be added throughout the spring.
Courses are offered at all four high schools; however, students may register for any course, regardless of their home high school.
To ensure maximum participation, students may enroll in only one course during the initial enrollment period. Depending on availability, open registration to enroll in more classes may be announced in early June.
