Message from Mrs. Thomsen

Dear Del Cerro families,

Happy New Year and welcome back!

Last November-December, Del Cerro enjoyed another fantastic four weeks of giving during our TeamKids Challenge. Students donated over 6 bins of food for the local food pantry, collected games, and art supplies for the Jesse Reese Foundation, and wrote letters of gratitude to our military troops. As a mother of two Air Force Officers, I know how much our military men and women appreciate those letters! Our Leadership Team, consisting of 5th and 6th-grade students, created a school carnival for the younger students. All money raised from ticket sales ($678!)went to an organization chosen by our student leadership team and is dedicated to health and well-being, Once again, the TeamKids Challenge has created opportunities for our Del Cerro students to make a difference to those in need.

From Mrs. Denny, Del Cerro's Amazing Librarian:

Hello Del Cerro families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful break. As a friendly reminder, our library welcomes donations of gently used books. If you are cleaning out your shelves, please consider passing on your used books to add to our collection. We love "new to us" books in the library!

Thank you to the Mottahedan, Gardner, Corwin, Marcus, and Wrobel families for your generous donations! Your books are actively being checked out and read by our students. I greatly appreciate having new selections to offer, as well as replacing old, worn-out books with newer copies.

Have a great day,

Mrs. Denny
