ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 12- MARCH 16, 2018
"HENRY!!": If you need custodial services, please call the office. Please do not call Mr. Ward on channel #2. The County has specific tasks Mr. Ward is to perform during the school day, and those tasks, in addition to emergencies, are priorities. Custodial services has been working under "reduced services' due to budget cuts for quite some time, but Mr. Ward's list of things to do has not decreased- just the number of people helping him.
When you call the office with a request, we will establish what is a "major" and what is a "minor" according to what is reported. (A major example would be an overflowing toilet or a spill in the hallway. A minor example would be that you are out of paper towels or there is a stink bug in the bathroom.) Mr. Ward will go through the list in order and refer what is not completed to the night crew.
We have an upcoming meeting with WCPSS custodial staff and Omnico (the night crew) to clarify what should be done and who is responsible. Your recent emails about unlocked doors and unswept rooms have been reported and will be discussed at that meeting. Do not stop reporting issues during the day or from the day before- we need to know!! We are just asking that you all the office and not Mr. Ward so that he can keep on a schedule and work "smarter, not harder."
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: On Sunday, March 11th at 2:00 am you will SPRING AHEAD one hour (to 3:00 am.) So, we will see you one hour earlier on Monday, March 12th! So drink that extra cup of coffee, and don't be late!!
PICTURES: Individual and class pictures will be taken on Monday, March 12th for tracks 2 and 4. Mrs. Britt put a schedule in teachers' boxes. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Britt.
PUE Pictures for Yearbook: Cameron Johnson, Kindergarten TA and Yearbook Chairperson needs your pictures for the yearbook. We have set up a PUE Pics 2017-18 for Yearbook folder for you to place your 2017-18 pictures that you have collected this year.
STAFF MEETING: Our March Staff Meeting is this Thursday, March 15th at 7:45. NCTIES attendees share highlights and practical items that were learned at the conference for us to use in the classroom and beyond. Remember to bring your laptop or iPad.
SEVERE WEATHER DRILL: The drill went well last week. We will have more drills coming up- we hope to have another lock down drill this year, for example. Please make sure you are ready. If you need maps or materials, please email lfricke@wcpss.net.
