4th Grade Weekly
April 1, 2022
4th Grade Learning is an Adventure!
Ride's annual Field Day is quickly approaching. Field Day will occur outdoors in the morning. Your child should wear tennis shoes, apply sunscreen, and bring a labeled water bottle.
Each student will be paired with a “buddy.” The buddies will work together to complete various cooperative, competitive, and active events. Students are free to rotate to the events of their choice.
In order for Field Day to be successful, we need your help. Due to the high number of activities, sixty volunteers will be needed to assist us with running the events for the entire school. No spectators please! If you are committed to helping, please sign up online at https://tinyurl.com/RideFieldDay . Further volunteer information will be communicated via email, including event descriptions, recommended supplies, volunteer check-in procedures, and other pertinent details.
Thank you,
Bridget Hodge and Laura Matthews

Please mark your calendars for April 12th at 6:00pm! The 4th Grade Music Showcase is the 4th grade, grade-level IN PERSON! music program this year.
Who- ALL of fourth grade!
What- A performance of vocal and instrumental music we have learned in music class this year. (Students can practice at home with the modules on Canvas in Mrs. Dimas’s “Dimas-Music-04” class!)
Where- Sally K. Ride cafeteria.
When- Tuesday April 12th, 6:00pm. Doors open and students report at 5:30.
Wear- Your favorite Sally K. Ride t-shirt and jeans.
Why- In the words of one of the 4th graders themselves: “Look what we can do!”
The entire fourth grade will be singing two songs, and performing instrumental pieces we have worked on in music class. The choir will also be performing as part of the program, but ALL fourth graders will have the opportunity to perform.
While ALL students will be performing in a dress-rehearsal assembly for some of their fellow Ride Challengers during the school day, I hope most will be able to attend in the evening, and perform in our first in-person music program since February of 2020! "
Parents- Just a reminder that students need wired earbuds/headphones with them every day. There are many activities and assignments in class that require these. If you do not have any, here is a link on Amazon to get a pack at a reasonable price!
