News You Can Use

Morning Drop Off

When dropping students off in the morning, parents are asked to pull forward to the end of the drop off area. Once the line begins to form, if your car is between the flag and the end of the drop off area, your student should exit the vehicle. We are noticing our students are waiting to unload at the very end of the line which is creating a much longer drop off line and process than is needed. We will have drop off supervisors communicating to students when they can begin to exit the vehicles when being dropped off in the morning. Thank you for your understanding.

Parking Lot Safety

To improve student safety, students will need to be picked up and dropped off on the curbside closest to the main entrance. Students should not be walking in the parking lot at any time due to the number of vehicles that are entering and departing Prairie Campus. In order to make this a safer experience for our entire Prairie family, we want to partner with our parents to patiently wait in line to pick up and drop off your children at the designated location.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please see the attached map for the specific pick up/drop off location.

See Something, Say Something Reporting Method

Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns.
During an emergency situation at one of our schools, it is important for our community to work together. Barrington 220 has developed this tip sheet for parents/guardians, which shares specific actions parents/guardians should take in the event of an emergency.
