Readers and Book Reviewers Rave About Promises
...Her characters are complex and once you get to know them, most of them will steal your heart. Her main antagonist is complex enough to keep you wondering until the end. The book ends in a way that leaves you wanting more.
-Carole Moye, Author of Psalms to the Key of My Life, Pittsburg, PA
...I want the character to come back in a sequel or even the prequel. I need her to come back. The story is complicated but the storytelling is direct and powerful. Think Dorothy West's The Wedding.
Robin Caldwell, GoodReads, St. Louis, MO
...Promises a riveting and an suspenseful read. When is the sequel going to be released?
-Second Sunday Reading Group, Crofton, MD
....Promises didn't disappoint. I loved the welled developed characters that each had a story to tell. Curry's novel reminded me of my favorites like J. California Cooper and Bebe Moore Campbell in which the authors interweave history while telling their tale. Curry teaches us about the military, the real black middle class, and the Naval Academy while sharing about family, love, commitment, jealousy, and betrayal. A must read!!
-Colorado Book Review, Colorado Springs, CO
Oops50.com Says Promises Resonates with Women of All Ages
I think Casey’s story will resonate not only with readers who have struggled with an empty nest or who are military wives but with women of all ages who have struggled to protect their family. The whole time I was reading Promises, I kept thinking this would make the perfect Lifetime channel movie – one of my guilty late night pleasures. - See more at: http://www.oops50.com/promises-a-new-novel-by-casey-curry/#sthash.Iy28ZM74.dpuf
Mother Love LA Talk Radio raves about Curry's books
Casey Curry, author and Director of Creative Writing shares how the devastating death of her 3 yr old daughter Tori Rose prompted her to write “I Remember You Today” an interactive grief book designed to assist a child through the first year of grief. It originated as an elegy and morphed into an illustrated soft bound book a child could carry and document their feelings in as they travel along their grief journey.
Her latest book, Promises is a novel that speaks of love, loss and renewal. It is a story of discovery and redemption. Mother love states, "It has to be a movie and I can't wait to see it!"
