Daylight Savings Lights
I hope it brightens your days!
BINGO-can you feel the excitement!
Tonight, March 13, 6:30-8:00 PM, in our Primary Gym, we will be calling letters and numbers for prizes and fun! We have expanded the area for more seating and will be having a visual board for easier understanding of the letters and numbers when called. Our PTO is the sponsoring group and we appreciate their involvement and support. Last year we had a terrific time. Please join us!
Student Writing
Students are exposed to and learn about different ways to write about their life's moments. Below are a couple of persuasive pieces from third graders. There is also a photo of the writier's tool box that contains those items that help them to compose without moving around the classroom. The box also serves as a handy portable desk.
C'mon Mom and Dad!
I really like art!
All I need to write is right here.

Guess who is coming to our district?
A former Packer will be joining us at an all-district assembly on Monday March 16, at 1:00 PM in the Intermediate School Gym. LeRoy Butler, Super Bowl Safety, will join us as he speaks about his youth and the hardships of being in a wheelchair and being bullied. His website http://www.leroybutlerinc.com/ is here for you to learn more about how he pushed through his challenges to become who he is today. He is the original "Lambeau Leaper". Thanks to Mr. Posick for making this happen.
Trinity Irish Dancers
We had a taste of the "old sod" today as the Trinity Irish Dancers pranced on stage at the Intermediate School from 9:30-10. There are members of our schools who are part of this troupe and we are proud to have them perform for us. There are seven different Irish dance troups in the city of Milwaukee and suburban areas.
I can or I will
On the second Wednesday of every month, we hold our school assembly (as Mr. Poscik does next door) and we have a theme to share. I spoke to the kids about choosing between I can or I will and the difference between the two. I used the book below to help illustrate this idea. The kids enjoyed the story about a boy who can write, but doesn't think he will-because he has no stories. I hope the kids can tell you a little bit about our time on Wedesday.
Student Senate Carnival is a week away!
This past week we had our monthly assembly and to kick it off we had six of its members give the kids highlights of the event via a very cool presentation. The kids sure looked excited as the 8th graders spoke about all the fun. Hope to see you there, March 20, 5-8 PM at the Intermediate School.
Mike Budisch
Thanks for taking the time to read the SMORE! Record breaking amount was raised for JRFH this year by our 5K-5th graders, almost $27,000 for the America Heart Association! WOW! Amazing! Way to go Merton!
