Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 8 - 10/09/22
Greetings Clipper Nation!
Progress reports went live on the 5th. On Friday our freshmen checked in during flex to ensure they were aware of their grades. Freshmen who took the initiative during flex earned a ticket for an icy at lunch. It is so important that students check their grades. If you haven't had a chance to review your student's grades, please take a look. The directions on how to see grades are below.
October 12th is PSAT testing day. Only 10th grade and 9th and 11th who registered for the PSATs will attend school in person on that day. All other students will have an asynchronous day and will access their work online through google classroom for each class.
If you know your student will be late for school, please send them with a note so we can excuse their lateness. Students start earning referrals on the fourth lateness to school.
On November 9th, students will participate in a state-mandated tobacco survey. This week during flex, students will receive more information and an opt-out form. The form says to return it by September, but we need the form back by October 22. Forms are attached in the email portion of the message.

College Essay Support
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Through the Title IV grant, Ms. Cahall and Mrs. Taylor will be available to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 3rd – Saturday, December 31st.
Here’s how it works: You will need to email the teacher you would like to work with letting them know you would like for them to review your essay. They will then send you information so that you can upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent them. The teacher will add you in an assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur.
Contact information for Participating Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course if there is another teacher you would like to have review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!

How to Stay in the Know?
The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
