StJP Principal Newsletter
January 6, 2017
As we begin a new year, remind us of our truest values and our deepest desires. Help us to live in the goodness that comes from doing what you want us to do. Help us to put aside anxiety about the future and the past, so that we might live in peace with you now, one day at a time. Amen
Many Blessings in 2017

Parent Reminders
2. We are not permitted to add or make changes to any students bus situation. If you need to make a change, you must go through the school district transportation department. Then you must have them call our school to report the change. They have a roster that they must follow and we are not permitted to change it or add students to it. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
3. Please do not drop students off on Fairhill between 8:00-8:30 am. From 8:00-8:15 AM students should be dropped off down in our parking lot. If a student is late between 8:15-8:30, please park on Sylvania and walk across Fairhill to report to the school office. After 8:30 you may drive down Fairhill and park in an open spot to come into school if necessary. This is a safety concern with students and buses.
4. We are still in need of volunteers during lunch and recess. If you have some time to spare and are willing to commit to an hour or two a week, please contact DSacco@stjpschool.info for more information. We have a teacher on staff in the gymeteria and on recess yard, but we always need volunteers to help monitor and help.
5. Another email is being sent through MSP about Clearances. Please read it and follow up with any documentation that we may be missing. This is mandated by the state for the safety and concern of your children.
6. When we were preparing for the first trimester academic excellence awards we noticed that there was some confusion about the qualifications for academic excellence. I wanted to clarify what is required earn academic excellence.
- Student must have a general average of 95%
- In addition, no individual grade may be below a 90%
- Student must have a 3 or higher in special subjects
- Student must have a 3 or higher in personal and social growth
- Student must have a 3 or higher in Effort and Study Skills
7. As reminder, we strongly recommend that all families complete the Smart Aid online application (https://smartaidforparents.com/#/login) by our December 31, 2016, priority application deadline. If you did not apply please do so asap.
8. Re-registration information or the 2017-2018 school year will be sent out next week! Hard to believe that we are planning for next year already.
