Who Do You Say I Am?

Life Long Friend

I say you are...

If Jesus would to ask me "who do you say I am?", I would answer with three simple words. I would say my role model, shepherd, and friend. In (Matthew 16:15) when Jesus asks his disciples the same question, Peter answers with the Messiah. My answer is very different from Peters but can be found to be similar.

Jesus is a friend because he is always with us and never will leave us alone in a challenge. One example is (John 15:15) "I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father." Jesus is saying that he does not see people a less but as an equal and that he is going to spread and share the news of God. Jesus is the example of the perfect friend. I try to be a friend like Jesus to my friends and to help them when they need me and to support them and always be with them.

A role model can be anyone. To some it may be an actor, to others a famous athlete but the most perfect role model is Jesus. He is a role model because he was kind, full of compassion and extremely forgiving. Jesus accepted everyone and loved children, in (Matthew 19:14) Jesus said “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” He is showing that children should be treated equally because they are usually treated as less. This is something to admire because we must remember we are all the same in the eyes of God. I admire Jesus and have him as a role model because he lived a life of peace and was truthful and respectful to everyone.

Jesus is a shepherd because he is humble and he always finds us even when we feel we are lost forever. Jesus helps us under stand in (John 10:11-12) "I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." Jesus is saying he is with us and will be with us till the end to save us.

I chose Hallelujah because there are a lot of versions of this song but they are all beautiful and show difference in the person. It shows how all us are different but we are all beautiful in our own way. Also because we must be thankful for all that God gave us.
