A tiger snake is an Australian reptile. The scientific name is Notechis scutatus. The tiger snake’s habitat is in woodlands, heathland, coastal dunes, grasslands and near fresh water. The tiger snake lives in the southern parts of Australia but lives on offshore islands as well.
The tiger snake’s patterning is orange tan tiger stripes. It can be olive brown and even black.
The tiger snake mostly eats rodents but can eat small mammals and birds such as rabbits and mutton bird chicks. Tiger snakes threats are things such as, cars which run them over so people need to take care.
The tiger snake is an unusual snake because it has tiger stripes. People need to take care because they are aggressive.
