Bringing Literature to Life
Dear Parents
We had a wonderful week celebrating literature. We discussed many questions during our large group sessions such as: Which are the parts of a book and the different ways to read a book? Who are the characters? How can we build a story? Who is the author and the illustrator? They came up with interesting answers as we discussed our classroom book.
We even created our own story this week!
We had the visit from Desiree Denise del Rosario, author of many children’s book. In 2015, she published her first story titled, “Acuarela” and in 2018 she publishes a collection of children’s stories in verse “Entre la Luna y el Sol”. During her visit, she read a poem from her book with a very important message: what matters is to have fun and enjoy the moment no matter what!
To end our celebration on Bringing Literature to Life, our students had the opportunity to share their favorite stories while dressing up like the characters. We paired them up so they can tell their friends what their books were about. When they were done, we gather as a class and shared our favorite parts of the books.
Have a wonderful weekend and we hope to see all of you in the Family Fun Fair!
Best regards,
PK 3 Team
