The Buzz
What's Happening in Our Hive
This newsletter is intended to let families know what third graders are working on in class and how third grade classrooms are participating in school-wide events. Please make sure you are still checking your student's red folder every night for important communications from the PTO, school administration, or central office.
Testing Window Closes...sort of!
The one exception to the end of the testing season is the Cognitive Abilities Test or CogAT. This assessment is used to measure students' reasoning and problem-solving skills. The test is given in three parts (verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal) over three days (the 25th, 26th, and 27th of October). Students' CogAT score, along with their reading and math scores from the BOG and iReady tests will be considered as students are identified to receive AIG services. The AIG team will be working with students to prepare them for this assessment. If you have questions or concerns about this assessment you may contact your child's teacher or Claxton's AIG Specialist, Shannon Hunt at shannon.hunt@acsgmail.net.
