From Maple Tree to Syrup
By: Izaiah
Farm
Farmers plant trees. Farmers drill holes in the trees to collect sap. They put metal spouts in the holes so the sap flows out of the tree. They hang buckets on the spouts to catch the sap.
Factory
The sap is taken to the sugarhouse. This is where maple syrup is made. Next, they heat the sap to a boil until it gets thick and sticky. Now it is maple syrup. Finally, they bottle the syrup and take it to the store.
Store
I like syrup on waffles and pancakes. You can buy it at Target or Hy Vee.
Fun Facts
The sugaring season begins in late February in Southern New England and ends in late April.
Conclusion
Now you know how syrup is made.
