'Put your whole confidence in God' - Catherine McAuley
Dear whānau,
It was wonderful to have so many family members join us to celebrate Matariki, and our Tūrangawaewae mahi (work). The children did a wonderful job hosting, sharing and singing. What a lovely way to celebrate together. I see there is already a video on facebook, and I as well as some terrific photos of some classroom work.
A warm welcome to our new student this week, Harriz who joins Room Pūkeko and he is first in his family to start school.
Over the last couple of weeks we had to abandon our teacher only days due to sickness. We will re-book these and the proposed dates are 8th and 9th September. Hopefully this is enough notice for families to prepare themselves. The days have been put aside for us to continue our vision work with a specific focus on literacy development.
Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend.
Ngā manaakitanga (blessings)
Annie
Te kupu o te wiki - tika
Tika means to be right, correct or in the right order. How we come together to celebrate events such as Matariki, is tika. It's great to hear a teacher say "tika!" when I am walking by the classrooms.
Healthy school - not yet
We are still encouraging drinking lots of water and, of course, nothing works better than a good night's sleep.
