Finley Farms Community,
Here at the Farm the month of September is full of activities and events to go along with our daily academic learning opportunities. This week we have enjoyed hosting our annual Book Fair as students have discovered the latest book releases in the Library. If you haven't had an opportunity to check it out, there is still time as we'll have the Book Fair open this Friday before and after school for final sales. Also taking place Friday (9/10) is our Grandparents' Day celebration in honor of national Grandparents' Day on September 12th. The FFE PTO will host an outdoor breakfast event for Falcon grandparents or special family members. Students and grandparents can place a pre-order for Chick-fil-A and enjoy breakfast out on our basketball courts before school from 7:15AM-8AM. The PTO will stay busy supporting our school as they'll also be kicking off our Penny War fundraiser on Monday, September 13th. Last year the FFE PTO hosted the inaugural Penny War event and we want to keep the momentum going with another friendly competition among grade levels for year two. As mentioned in the previous Falcon Flyer, at the end of August we facilitated our beginning of the year benchmark assessments. Those results combined with classroom activities and observations have enabled teachers to identify strengths and challenges of each student to then develop action plans pertaining to grade level priority standards. Part of this process includes partnering with families for Parent-Teacher Conferences in order to ensure all members of the team are informed and working together to best meet the needs of our students. To allow teachers the ability to schedule and facilitate our Parent-Teacher Conferences we will be on our Half-Day bell schedule Thursday, September 23rd and Friday September 24th. I thank you in advance for scheduling a conference with your child's teacher as we look forward to collaborating with you!

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Gilbert Public Schools has identified September 23rd and 24th as the dates for our annual Parent-Teacher conferences. We are excited to partner with you as we host imperative discussions regarding student progress and present levels. Teachers will be using this opportunity to review your child's progress in all areas as we look to continue our work as a team in order for each child to meet their full potential academically, behaviorally, and socially.
Families are able to sign up for a conference date/time by accessing the FFE Parent-Teacher Conference SignUp link and selecting your child's classroom. It is strongly encouraged that families with more than one Falcon student schedule a gap between conferences to allow for transition time while shifting from one conference to the next. Please note, this year we will not be providing childcare supervision as a health and safety mitigation measure.

Dear Falcon Parents,
This school year we continue to work hard to keep our campuses safe and our students as healthy as possible. If one of our Nurses or Health Assistants calls to inform you that your student is ill or that they have been identified as needing to quarantine please understand that we are following the guidance of the Maricopa County Department of Health and the CDC, and that this is required by the Arizona Department of Health. We understand that having your child home from school for an extended period of time can cause undue stress and we appreciate your support in following these required guidelines. Thank you for your understanding and support of our nurses, health assistants, and front office staff during this challenging time. They are doing their very best for our families and it is important that we all work together.
