I have always been on a road of exploration, trying to look around and pursue things that interest me. Technology and music were two of them, and to quite an extent, I had managed to do delve deeper into each of these fields. My work in these fields had taken me places, and somehow travel became a new field of obsession. I became a backpack traveler, trying to explore and understand the fields of art, culture, architecture and history. Having traveled many places, I started to make my own maps and guides. And very soon, I felt the need to document these in a better way.
That is when I attended a session on travel writing at IReboot, which gave me new insights into the world of travel and adventure. Continuing with my usual sense of exploration, I took interest in attending a few more sessions to get a glimpse into fields like web development, stock market, event management and bar-tending. I was absolutely thrilled with the time I spent and enjoyed the learning experience IReboot provided.
Recently, I quit my job at Texas Instruments and pursued a program from Stanford University, where I learned to bring together the fields of technology and music. I then co-founded TommyJams, which is an initiative to collect artists and venues, and provide a transparent, hassle-free and inexpensive web-platform for them to interact. At present, I manage it's end-to-end operations (development, testing, performance, creative design, marketing, media, execution and research).
I also happened to deliver a TED talk on the idea of exploration and finding what interests you. I think IReboot is doing a commendable job in helping people explore new fields and find new interests.
