WIN Book Club

This is one of my favorite times of the day! Our WIN group uses Google Classroom to share learning. The students listen to Flora and Ulysses read aloud and set goals for at home reading. They are assigned jobs; such as Word Wizard, Super Summarizer, Literary Luminator, Discussion Director, and Connector. The book club members get creative with apps to present their learning to the group. They upload the videos and pictures that they create to Google Classroom. The group discusses the creations and significance to the story. So far, students have used the apps Educreations, Google Docs, and PicCollage, Tellagami.

Chat and Chew Book Club

Our club meets once a week during fifth grade lunch. In November we hosted a "Chat and Chew" for the book Counting by 7’s and invited any fifth grader that finished the book to attend. We also created a Thinglink for next book Odette’s Secrets.
