MOUNDS VIEW SUMMER BAND - Distance Learning
We have made some changes to our Summer Band Program so that we will be able to offer Distance Learning classes. The dates are the same, July 6-July 30, with various times for all instruments and students. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Summer Band students will be able to use school chromebooks and will also receive a subscription to SmartMusic. These will be necessary resources for our Distance Learning instruction. Students will be able to pick up instruments and other materials the last week of June as needed. Details will be provided at a later date. Check out our website for more information.
Current Band Students
If you have already registered for the Intro to Middle School Band, there are some changes. We will be offering 30-minute 6th Grade Band Sectionals which will meet Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Community Education will update your course and send an e-mail to confirm your enrollment in the new Distance Learning program. Please allow up to 2 weeks for this process. You may contact Community Education if you wish to make any further changes. Current 4th Graders
Summer Band registration for Beginning Band is now open. Watch this informational video HERE to help decide what instrument you would like to play in band. We'd encourage students to watch this with their parents and discuss your options together. Click HERE for information on how to rent an instrument and how to sign up for summer classes (45-minute classes will be offered in the morning and evening for all instruments). If you have questions, please contact Mr. Erickson via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Students who are unable to participate in the summer beginning band program will have opportunities to learn the instruments and play in the band when school resumes in the fall.
