Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter was born on June 26, 1974 in Pequannock , NJ. He was drafted out of high chool by the Yankees in 1992 and made his MLB debut in 1995. The following year he became the starting shortstop and won the Rookie of the Year Award and helped the team win the 1996 worls series. He was the captain of the yankes from 2003 until his retirement in 2014. He batted right and threw right. He has hit 260 homeruns and has 1,311 RBIs and has a batting average of .310. Jeter earned the nicknames "Captain Clutch" and "Mr. November due to his incredible playing ablilty. On July 9, 2011 Jeter hit his 3000th which was is incredible because a total of only 28 players in the MLB have mad it to 3000 career hits. Drek Jeter did something that had every kis who has every played baseball tried at least once in a game. He would jump up i the air and dart the ball to first. Jeter's iconic trademark jump made him the most known shortstop of all time. Derek Jeter sadly retired in 2014 after 20 great years and 20 awesome seasons.
