School Counseling

Senior Meetings

All seniors should meet with their school counselor at this time to discuss post-graduation plans. See Student Services to schedule an appointment. Also, as students receive admission responses, it’s important they tell their counselor and update their Naviance accounts with the results.

Many scholarship opportunities are already posted on seniors’ Naviance accounts. Students should check it regularly as new applications become available throughout the academic year. Read deadlines & requirements carefully; they may require letters of recommendation, transcripts, and/or other supplemental documents. See Student Services with questions.

Senior Parent Information

Helpful information for senior parents regarding the college application process can be found in the “School Counseling” section of the THS website under “College Planning” . Videos and helpful links are available to help students and families feel prepared and informed on the college application process: School Counseling website page

Help Wanted Job Board

Student Services maintains a job board website for students looking for a job. Click here to view. On this website, there is a link on how to obtain a youth employment work permit for Massachusetts and New Hampshire jobs.

Community Service Board

For students looking to help the community and/or earn service hours, the Student Services office created a “Tigers Volunteer” website. Students, click here to view. The community service board is only accessible from students' TPS accounts.

Proof of Vaccination

As a reminder in an effort to better understand our current vaccination rate, and to assess how close we are to the 80% threshold we would like to give parents the option to provide proof of vaccination for your child. If your child has received the COVID-19 vaccination and you would like this information added to your child’s health record, please provide proof of vaccine through one of the following options:

  • Reply to this email with an attached copy of vaccination card (vaccination@tyngsboroughps.org)

  • Secure Health Office Fax (978) 649-9194

  • Photocopy your student’s proof of vaccination and send it into the school nurse in a sealed envelope addressed to the Health Office

While the school nurses have access to the Massachusetts State Immunization Registry which is a database that keeps confidential vaccination records in one place. Individuals choose to opt into this database which is typically offered by the primary care physician, or they may decline to have the information shared. As a result, our nurses do not always have the most updated information. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
