Samuel Weekes - Student Union President's Notes
I trust that we have all had a good holiday period, enjoyed the time off and have come back refreshed and ready to face the challenges of this year.
Last year, I was elected President on three promises: that I would bring more activities to the street, provide more seating around the college, and create a space for you to express your concerns to me, directly.
Before we broke up for Christmas, I had a brief meeting with the Principal regarding my first promise and I have to say that I am very grateful for her approval thereof. We spoke at length about the changes I'd like to make and she is more than willing to see them implemented correctly.
This month, the union and I, in cooperation with senior management will be working hard to see these changes become a reality.
In terms of my third promise, my weekly surgery is open all day Wednesday. Feel free to pop in to the base to talk to me about your experience here at EFC and what I can do to make it better.
Have a great year and stay tuned.
Samuel

Don't walk by initiative 2017
No one in our college should be a stranger - We are all traveling the same path, trying to discover who we are and what we want to do in the future and yet we are ignoring over a thousand people who are experiencing the exact same daily struggles.
#DontWalkBy is an initiative trying to encourage support amongst students. If you see someone upset why not lend them a moment of comfort, perhaps you'll have the advice that improves their week? College should be somewhere where positivity and support is everywhere because sometimes, life outside of college can be challenging.
Your friendly gesture could be the start to a brighter future, so please, don't walk by.
