Identification
- Can reach from 6-8 ft. long.
- Males can weigh up to 330 lbs.
- Females can weigh up to 240 lbs.
- Tend to be smaller than most tigers.
- Stripes are usually broad and spaced out farther apart than other tigers.
Geographic Location
- Located in Central and Eastern China.
- Usually prefer dense jungles, enjoy spending time in the water.
Role In Ecosystem
- Classified as a carnivore.
- Common prey includes monkey, birds, and small bucks.
- Can eat between 33 and 88 lbs. of meat at once because they do not eat very often due to little prey.
Threats and Solutuins
- Is known to be one of the worlds must endangered species (2 dozen left).
- Is the most valuable living resource.
- Has not been spotted in the wild for 25+ years.
- Hope for their survival is very slim.
- I think that we could put them in an environment that promotes population growth in order for them to be taken off the endangered list.
